Brother MFC-9840CDWMarca: Buono This is a multifunction color laser (Print/scan/copy/fax with builtin 802.11b/g wireless networking. I have only tried the printing from eCS 2.0 RC5. Networks fine using the SLPR port driver. Printing works fine with both PCL-6 (LaserJet emulation) at 600DPI, and Postscript (using the PPD included on the windows CD and the eCS BetaZone INSTPDR utility to add this printer to the OS/2 Postscript driver). With Postscript (they call it BR-Script 3) I am able to get enhanced printing (2400x600 DPI) which produces a very nice photo quality print. There is some banding visible on the print, but I haven't obtained Laser Photo Paper to print an actual photo on, so it may be even better on that. Inkjet Photo Paper actually burns off the plastic coating when run through this printer (and probably any laser printer). This printer also has duplexing builtin which works fine with the OS/2 Postscript driver. I doubt the scanner will work with Tame/2, but there is the ability to email or ftp a scanned image, but I have not tried either of these features. Configuration is done either via the printer's control panel and LCD screen or via a web browser (including FireFox which is what I used).
