чтобы загрузиться после установки VAC3, перенесите в CONFIG.SYS в строчках SET SOM=.. , SET LIBPATH= .. все ссылки на IBMCPP в конец этих строк.
A2: Я устанавливал, а потом убивал весь SOM, что шел в VAC. Тогда работало.
A3: А зачем его устанавливать? Распаковать, да создать .cmd, примерно такой:

problem:
I have a problem. I installed Visual Age C++/2 v3.0 on my eComstation
box, then changed the resolution to 1024x768 32-bit and rebooted.
Ctrl-Alt-Delete only reboots (so that nice CAD commander has not loaded yet)
Now it just sits there with a blank desktop. Subsequent reboots won't fix
the problem.
Is there a way I can diagnose this or just get back to what it was on the
last good boot?

This has been biting everyone since, what, 98? Boot to a command line and
edit comfig.sys to point the som*** files in your \os2 directory. Somir=
has to point to the DSOM subdirectory - find the directories pointed to in
config.sys refering to SOM and then find the corresponding subdirectories
in \os2. After the first few times, I learned to not let the installer
modify config.sys to get past that PITA - it wants to point to what were
updated SOM files when it was released but which are now badly outdated.

While he's at it, he should make sure the IBMCPP directories are at the END
of the LIBPATH statement instead of the beginning.
User 4 -- VACPP 3.0 installation
1. Ставим VACPP (кроме тулкита)
2. Ребутимся.
3. Ставим фикспак 3.08
4. Тьфу! Чуть не забыл!
2. В конфиге перетаскиваем в LIBPATH всё, что связано с VACPP,
в конец.
3. Ребутимся.
4. Ставим фикспак (3.08)
<_|e-co|> там же SOM .. и т.п. другое или типа того
Вот, нункт 2 как раз для борьбы с кривым SOM.
5. Скачиваем с хоббеса vacstuff и действуем по инструкции.
6. Ставим тулкит
7. Если rc.exe от VACPP всё ещё первый в путях, удаляем его нахрен.
(Кстати, тулкит в пункте 6 должен быть со второго диска eCS.
Другие - кривые).
8. Собственно, всё. В принципе, все упоминания о SOM
ссылающиеся на каталог, куда остановлен VACPP, тоже, не
помешает выкинуть из конфига.
